Install Issue / plugin dashboard menu not displaying

Hi,
I installed your Calendar plugin successfully, played around with some of the settings (including the Import feature) and then deactivated it temporarily while I tried out a few other things. A few hours later I re-activated the plugin but The Events Calendar menu options are no longer appearing in the admin sidebar. All I see is “Tags, Settings, Help, and Event Add-ons”. That’s it, I’m missing everything else, even the basic ability to add a new event. I then meticulously went through Modern Tribe troubleshooting documentation, but none of it seemed to fix this issue or shed any light on the root cause. I even went so far as to upload a legacy version of the plugin to see if that worked. Nope. I’m bummed because this turned out to be the best plugin option for my site, but now something has gone awry. I’d like to try and troubleshoot this before moving on to another option. Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Calendar View isn’t showing events?

Hi,

We have recently installed The Events Calendar Plus and also Events Tickets Plus

When we show the calendar, instead of the one in the demo where all of the events show on a certain day, instead it’s just a little dot that leads to a page showing the events on the day.

We really need the calendar to show the events just like in the demo on the demo site and not just the dot. I can’t find the option to change this and I’ve looked everywhere

Divi page builder

Hi there,

I am trialling TEC on a Divi site.
On the “Events” page that is generated, I can enable the Divi builder, and I’ve put in my graphical header and a footer using the builder. However, it will not show front end.

Other than that, the plug in is brilliant.

I know that it’s impossible to get things working for every theme, but I read in the forums that people were using it with Divi with no problem, so I’m wondering if I’ve missed out a vital step?

Hi,
we are using the LMS Theme (https://themeforest.net/item/lms-learning-management-system-education-lms-wordpress-theme/7867581) and we receive the following error message:

Move Enable event views

My default view is DAY.

I have Enable event views with DAY, LIST and Calendar. The default design places this at the top.

Can I place this at the bottom instead? Or the best option would be to hide this on mobile?

📣 The Events Calendar Release: The Events Calendar 4.5.4

Howdy folks!

We’re happy to announce that The Events Calendar 4.5.4 officially released just moments ago. This is a feature release, which is a fancy way of saying we added some new functionality.

So, what’s new in this release? Glad you asked, because I was getting to the change log:

  • Tweak — Minor tweaks to the CSS for linked post types (Organizer/Venues)
  • Fix — Prevent drag and drop icon showing when singular linked post type is been displayed
  • Language — 2 new strings added, 156 updated, 0 fuzzied, and 4 obsoleted [the-events-calendar]
  • Language — 4 new strings added, 20 updated, 1 fuzzied, and 0 obsoleted [tribe-common]

Next up, we’re making progress on the next major feature release for The Events Calendar and can’t wait to get that out to you. In the meantime, please update safely as you would with any other WordPress, theme or plugin update and be sure to let us know if you run into any other issues.

Strange behavior of sidebars

Hello there,

I am using the free version of events calendar. I also use the “Custom Sidebars – Dynamic Widget Area Manager” to define which sidebars should be used where. I can set the options to show a sidebar on event-pages as well as event archives and event category archives – but ….

… there are some issues to it and I am trying to figure out, what exactly it is. One symptom is, that it does not work when a category is displayed. Now I am wondering: I do have a german version and the link has this format:

https://smysite/kategorie/title_of_category/

Please note, that in the URL the german word “kategorie” is used. On blog pages of my site it would be “category”. I wonder if that could be the reason, why I am having trouble?

Is there a way to change the way these links are created, namely to change the word kategorie to category?

There is another problem, when there is no new event. Then it will also not show the correct sidebar. And I have no clue what that could be …. But if you could help me with the “category” – that would already be amazing!

Google Map and Venue informaton now missing from Calendar

Hello,
Up until a couple of days ago, the Calendar was working fine. Now when I click on an Event, in either the List view or the Monthly view, the Venue information (phone no., website, etc.) is not showing in the right column, and the Google Map does not appear under the event. This may have happened after I updated to the new release? I had just installed it and set it up a couple of weeks ago and everything was fine.

Please help me with this as I really need it to work!

Issues with Imports

I’ve just started using The Events Calendar and am having some issues. I’m not sure if I’m missing something or if it’s in the capabilities. Facebook import is great but I’m having problems with others.

1) Is there a way to set a category default image so that if an event has no image attached the default for that category shows?

2) When I import an .ics, no image imports.

3) When I import an .ics, no venue imports since the calendar I’m pulling from is for a specific venue and that field isn’t filled. The only way I can see to correct it is to manually open each imported event and put in the venue. You can’t do it in quick edit. I just imported 54 for events from one venue, it will take some time to edit each one. I also tried bulk editing, but the only field that show are the same ones that are in quick edit, no venue, etc.

4) Some of the events I import from .ics have no description

5) I can’t see any way to edit venue, image or many other things except category on import.

6) I’ve found 2 venues that use The Events Calendar so far, I’ve tried to import the url of each and both had the error message that it couldn’t be done because they were using an outdated version.

Events Page Not Showing on Admin Pages.

I can’t find my events page to edit layout in Divi. I can load the page by using website.com/events, but when I look under pages, it doesn’t show an events (or any other one that i think may be it by another name) page.

Updated the plugin. Now tickets are not showing on back or front end

Hi, I updated the Events Calendar plugin today and now:
– I cannot add new tickets to my event in the back end.
– Tickets are not available to buy on the front end.

I inherited the site I’m working on from someone else and under Settings for The Events Calendar I’m getting a message that the licence key (which was on the site when I took it over) is invalid. So I can’t update the Aggregator; I am not sure whether the Aggregator has any part in this problem I’m having.

As we are trying to raise money for charity with this event, I’m starting to panic. I need access to creating tickets and to making the tickets display on the front end. Happy to privately – somehow!!! – provide login details.

after i have install this plugin, sites like https://checkgzipcompression.com show that my site don’t use gzip.
but only the first request is not in gzip-mode. it looks like that this test-sites only use the first request to judge.

Community Events upgrade

We have the Community Events addon for the Calendar. We received an email about the upgrade, but it seems to indicate that we need to have The Events Calendar 4.6 installed and I don’t see any upgrade for The Events Calendar beyond the 4.5.4 version we have.

CSV import not working

When importing the example events CSV file everything appears to work correctly but after clicking import the message appears:

Import complete!
No events were imported or updated.

I’ve tried this with multiple WordPress installs and other csv files.

List view creates “current date” event

On our site, there is showing up an event that appears only on list view for the current date/time. If you click on it, it returns you to the homepage.

many moons ago, I had offered you that I will translate your Event Calendar and Event Calendar PRO to Polish language. So… I am done with PRO, and done most of the basic version. It’s really too much of a hassle to enter it seperatly into your “Translations project”. Maybe I can get from you some e-mail where I could send .po and .mo files?

Coursepress Conflict

We are having a conflict between courepress pro and the free version of the plugin, we can see forum posts on your site but the responses are marked private. When you try to edit a course on courspress you cant add content and both courspress and a forum post on your site suggest this is an issue with this plugin.

Wrong Paths when plugins folder moved

Hi community,

we just came across a problem, as we are moving our plugins path on the top level.
In this case the plugins folder is no longer a subfolder of wp-content, but the plugin assumes it should be there anyhow.

The problem occurs in common/src/Tribe/Assets.php :: maybe_get_min_file()
around line 184ff in Version 4.5.4

For all other people that might hit the same problem: the correct code should be
