Changing Colors & Styles not working

I’ve tried for the last 4 weeks to change the background colors on my Events Calendar Pro. I had a setting area that I could change and I did to multiple colors of green, but now that option to change background colors has disappeared. I can change category colors so I’m making a bad looking calendar worse. Default stylesheet used for events templates will not accept changed from Tribe Events Styles. I click save changes and nothing happens. I’m a novice who everyone likes to charge every little change. I feel I should download Events Calendar Pro again or WordPress to the newest version but I don’t want to mess something up to pay $85/hour to fix it. This is my calendar now and it’s a mess. https://getucooking.com/classes/ I don’t know what version of WordPress is currently running.

I am struggling in getting the registration set up correctly. If I click on the register link (http://siwcenter.org/events/) it gives me a warning that the contact-form-7 404 is not found, but I cannot find how to link the contact form to the registration. Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Howdy folks!

We’re happy to announce that The Events Calendar 4.5.5 officially released just moments ago. This is a maintenance release, which is a fancy way of saying we squashed a lot of bugs, including some high priority ones we know many of you will appreciate.

So, what’s new in this release? Glad you asked, because I was getting to the change log:

  • Fix — Removed extra double quotes in organizer link output
  • Fix — Make the list and day view styles match more closely
  • Fix — Better sanitization on CSV imports
  • Fix — Prevent tabs from being incorrectly escaped in iCal output (props: @kzeni)
  • Fix — Fixed inconsistent font styling of Tribe Bar form labels.
  • Fix — Removed unused Javascript (jQuery UI Dialog) to help avoid warnings (our thanks to @gama6889 for flagging this)
  • Fix — Added new filter hooks tribe_events_register_event_type_args and tribe_events_register_event_cat_type_args

Next up, we’re making progress on the next major feature release for The Events Calendar and can’t wait to get that out to you. In the meantime, please update safely as you would with any other WordPress, theme or plugin update and be sure to let us know if you run into any other issues.

We have a Known Issues page for you to reference so you can see what’s already on our radar for a fix.

Happy calendaring, everyone!

Hi, Tried a number of things but still can’t get this to work – when I go to the link ‘Where’s my calendar? Right here.’, it can’t be seen? I’ve tried uninstalling and reinstalling the events calendar plugin and events calendar pro and also tried viewing with a different theme, but it still doesn’t work. All the individual events work through the mini calendar on the homepage though? It did work for a while when it was first installed, then stopped working? Any suggestions?

Thanks

Social Share Buttons

Hello, we’re using the commercial theme The7 (from Dream-Theme via Themeforest), and it has social share buttons built in. However, those buttons do not display on The Events Calendar event pages. The sharing buttons do display on normal Pages and Posts — just not event pages.

I know I can remove the theme share buttons and then use a sharing-specific plugin, but I’d like to keep things cleaner if possible. Any thoughts on how to make the theme recognize The Event Calendar events for sharing purposes?

Thanks in advance.

List View Not Visible

On Divi with latest TEC version (4.5.5). Noticed List view wasn’t displaying on the previous version, updated to 4.5.5 and still doesn’t appear. Changed default view to Calendar, switched to List view on the page and still doesn’t show. If I select ‘Find Events’ though, all the events appear.

Plugin not working, ‘no input file specified’

Hi there,
I am having trouble getting the events calendar to show up. It all looks fine at the back end but when you click on the events tab in the main navigation menu an error message shows, ‘no input file specified’. I have been going round in circles with this! I suspect it might have something to do with my permalinks (although I have made sure they are ‘pretty’ as required) but I still can’t figure it out. Any suggestions much appreciated!
Many thanks in advance

Month View Display Issue

Hi there,

I had the plugin working fine until few days ago when – all of sudden – the month view of the widget is not working fine.

Basically, at the end of the month view (that is correct) I got the following text displayed on the front-end:

“[[ if(imageSrc.length) { ]]
[[=title]]
[[ } ]] [[ if(excerpt.length) { ]]
[[=raw excerpt]]
[[ } ]] [[=i18n.find_out_more]]”

Live page is here:

Anyone one can help to fix this?

Thanks

set variable within single-event.php

I’ve included an overwrite of single-event.php within my child theme. Within this file I retrieve a Tribe custom variable associated with each event:
$holder = $custom_fields[‘Places left’]

I need to code a decrease of $holder – can I do this and will create any problems-

$custom_fields[‘Places left’]= $custom_fields[‘Places left’]-1;

Thanks for any advice on this.

New install widget issue

I’m using this plug on a number of sites. When I installed the new version 4.5.5 yesterday the main widget section of the site stopped allowing me to add widgets in the widget sections. When clicking to add a widget to a widget section, the drop down does not show nor does dragging work. This site is running Avada 5.1.6, their most recent version.

When I turn off the Events Calendar plug, the widgets work. When reactivating, the widgets stop working.

Thoughts?

How do I override this function to take out the “http://”

function tribe_get_organizer_website_link( $post_id = null, $label = null ) {
		$post_id = tribe_get_organizer_id( $post_id );
		$url     = tribe_get_event_meta( $post_id, '_OrganizerWebsite', true );

				if ( empty( $parseUrl['scheme'] ) ) {
					$url = "http://$url";

			$html = sprintf(

		return apply_filters( 'tribe_get_organizer_website_link', $html );

Should installation build a calendar?

RESOLVED: I changed the Events Template to Default Events Template and it created the calendar.

I installed the latest version and went to my calendar at /events but no calendar shows there. Instead, it’s a random image from my media. I had a page with the “events” slug, so I renamed that page’s slug but it didn’t change the calendar page. I uninstalled Events Calendar and reinstalled it, but I still don’t have a calendar. I added an event and that page looks great, but even though I added a featured image to it, the same random photo shows on /events with a short blurb under it.

Should I be seeing a calendar from the start? What should /events look like right after installation? I’m using the latest Genesis theme and a child theme. Thanks!

Hi,

All the links within the event open on the same page, so people leave my website.
I would like to make all these links “target=_blank” so the link opens a new page!

Would be nice this is a setting somewhere, but a manual solution is ok for now as wel.

I’m looking to track down a way to edit the text on the view selector. It currently reads “View As”. I’ve looked through the forum and thus far haven’t found a related thread or response.

I’m a bit of a newcomer, but eager to learn. Any leads pointing me in the right direction or answers would be greatly appreciated.

Just installed The Events Calendar plug in.
Going to Where’s my calendar? and click but just get a 403 error.
I can edit the plug in and create events but all of the view pages give a 403 error.

Nothing else is using the slugs /events or /event

Where do I look to fix this. This is a brand new WordPress install with a brand new Events Calendar plug in install. Should be straight forward, not sure why I can’t view my new events calendar.
Any help please

Import csv not showing Google Map

When bulk importing events via csv, the field mapping to ‘Show Google Map’ is not working and the map is not displaying as a consequence. I have added a Google API but the only way this works is if I manually edit the event and select the checkbox to ‘Show Google Map’. Is the field mapping not working for the csv import when Show Google Maps is set to ‘TRUE’ in the .csv?

Events URL Slug has no forward slash

Seems like a common issue on the forum but can find a solution.

Here is the calendar page:
http://www.thejamescenter.com.php7-34.ord1-1.websitetestlink.com/events

If I try and go and view the Month or Day, I get a “This site can’t be reached” page.

NOTE the URL. The forward slash is missing before the “events” at the end of the URL

Using WordPress is_front_page conditional

I’m trying to modify an Events Calendar template using conditionals so certain elements only appear on specific theme pages but the WordPress conditionals (like “is_front_page”) do not work, probably because the plugin files are loaded before $wp_query fires. Are there any other conditional methods to use within the plugin that return true or false for specific pages in a theme? Or is there a workable method to use WordPress conditionals? Thanks.
